Running down the corridor, all I could see was Zoey's backside around the corner. Shouting towards her, I turned the corner. Only to be greeted by sleeping infected. Stopping short, I grabbed ahold of Zoeys shoulder to steady myself from falling. Stopping my breath short, I look at Zoey, who nods towards Paul. He was unmoving, in a trance of sorts. An internal struggle with his sanity must be ensuing. Grasping him by his collar, I lifted him off the ground, and threw him into my arms. Quickly covering his mouth, I looked around at Zoey.

I placed a single finger to my lips to hush him as the zombie lowered his growls to a soft hum, falling back asleep. I turned and began to walk the way we had came in the direction a large graffiti stated was the way to the hospital. No words were exchanged as we rushed to the ladder. I looked up, hearing strange sounds, which I guess weren't strange in the land of the strangely strange. Ugh. "Let's go..." I whispered, placing my hand on the first rung when Paul got his mouth free and screamed. "Catharine!!!" In reply, the sleeping zombie horde screamed and the ground rumbled as they gained the ground we had just made. "Fuck, fuck, fuck!" I yelled, grabbing hold of the bars and climbing as fast as I possibly could, hoisting myself out of the stinking manhole. In front of me stood a massive towering building. The hospital; and a safe house. "Safe house ahead!" I yelled at the men climbing after me, the horde close behind, grumpy from being woken up. I lifted myself off my knees and began to run ahead, but stop after stumbling a few feet ahead, only to look up at a massive amount of flesh and muscle starring down at me. As my eyes widened, I raised my weapon in defence, and stood frozen in shock.

Heaving the wiggling man onto my shoulders, despite the fact he was a bit heavy, I heaved up the ladder with little effort. Finally feeling air on my skin, I crawled out of the hole facing Zoey. She stood looking the opposite way. Paul slumped onto the ground and looked at his feet, hair in his face. Shaking Zoey, I turned to look at what she was looking at. Face to face with something completely new, I almost shit myself! Gulping, it stared me in the yes. It looked angry, but made no attempt to do anything but sniff me. Not moving, I stood there and closed my eyes. Tank William Sniffing the man very carefully, I could tell everything about him, from just his scent. His cologne was strong to my senses. It annoyed me. Pushing past him with little ease, he seemed afraid of me. He stepped aside with no resistance. Stepping towards the girl, I sniffed her too. She smelled like the man, and she seemed more afraid than him. Picking her up like a toy, I examined her completely. Playing with her hair, and setting her back down. Taking a few steps towards the man on the ground, I sensed the other two shuffle their steps, prepared to jump in at any time. He was defenseless, and he seemed out of it. A sudden screeching pierced my enhanced hearing; I felt rage enter my body once more. Screaming, I grabbed a chunk of concrete, and shoved it down the manhole. Hearing many cracks and squishes, the screeching subsided. Picking up the man on the ground, I grabbed him around the waist and lifted his face to mine. Screaming loudly, trying to get his attention. Opening his eyes quickly, he placed a gun to my forehead. Looking up at me, he now realized his situation. He looked around confused, his gun still to my forehead.

"Paul... Paul just put the gun down and play dead... oh god don't make him angry...." I whispered only loud enough that he could hear. We had all seen what he had just done to the horde following us, and the sheer mass of the zombie was something none of us could handle. The two of them were now starring at eachother, Paul having lowered his gun. Our comrade went limp like a doll in the beasts hands. Having just felt the monster touch me before he went for Paul I shivered again. It was barely even flesh, just pure and complete muscle on his body, even his hands. Only his fingers seemed normal. I think what Paul did confused the monster. I wondered if it could think, and if it had any human concious at all. Did he think he crushed Paul to death? Because the man was pulling off a very convincing act. Or... was he dead?! "Paul!?"

Tank William
Feeling the man go limp in my hand, I stare at him confused. Shaking him gently, I scream out in anger. Setting the dead man down on the ground, I take off past the other Man, and woman. Rushing into a nearby building, I take out the wall without any effort. Feeling the concrete fall down onto me, I brush it off, and sit there in the debris. Keeping to myself, I sit on the ground. If I could see myself, I bet right now I was frowning. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. Feeling something that I had not felt in a long time confused me. Reaching up towards my face so quickly, the sheer force of my arms punched my in the face. Knocking me onto my back. Hearing snickers from behind me, I quickly stand and turn. Seeing the people again, I calmed. Walking up to the man, I pushed out my chest in dominance. The man seemed to understand, as he lowered his head in agreement. I turned to look at the woman, and I did the same. She seemed confused at the gesture. I did it again to clarify.

I had no idea what was going on, and I kept my feet planted firmly on the ground. He was standing in front of me puffing out his chest, glaring at me with those orange eyes. I couldn't help but cower and my knees quickly buckled out underneath me. I couldn't move. The mass of muscle in front of me was far too intimidating. He could kill me instantly. I just stared up at it, unable to hear as Francis yelled for me. That seemed to anger the beast even further and it pounded on its chest, swinging its massive fists, barely missing me. I gripped my head in my hands and let out a loud, high-pitched scream in fear.

Tank William Hearing the screech made me stop in mid chest beat. Stumbling, I placed my arms to my ears. Grabbing the girl in my hands, I started to squeeze her. Not enough to kill or hurt her, but enough to get my point across. The moment I grabbed her, The man jumped onto my shoulders without hesitation. Dropping the girl to the ground, she quickly caught herself, and dropped to her behind on the ground. Flailing around with the man dangling on my back, I attempted to grab him. Turning quickly, I tried to punch him off my back. On the third try, I felt my fist hit a nice thud, and a "CRACK!" on the mans back. His grip loosened, and he fell to the ground behind me. I had blacked out, and awoke standing over the mans body. He was badly beaten, and he was spitting blood. Despite the beaten he took, he still sat with his arms blocking the girl. The girl had her arms around his chest, and she was begging me to stop. Raising my arms to smash him, she let out another ear-piercing scream. My head began to hurt, and my vision blurred. Taking off in full sprint, I ran towards the hospital. Smashing in the front doors, and into the darkness that ensued.

The beast stormed away after I opened my eyes, making the ground rumble. Both Francis and I were quiet until the rumble subsided. Once it did I quickly crawled around him and gripped on to his vest, staring at him with tears pouring down my face. "You stupid, stupid man! You could have been killed! Stupid idiot!" I cursed at him, pulling at his vest. He didn't move, only looked at me smirking. I raised a hand to wipe blood from his lips, finding blood staining his beard as well. i brought my face closer to his and whispered, "Don't you ever do that again..." before pulling his weak body in to my arms for a moment, stroking his hair while he regained his composure. The tears wouldn't stop rolling down my cheeks. Paul walked over, silent, and gathered our weapons before limping to the safe room which was right in the hospital entrance. I let Francis rest a moment longer before standing him up, struggling to pull him up with me. Together, we limped towards the big red doors.

Hearing Zoey angry and scared was entertaining. She had a high pitched scream that was unmistakable. She was cute while she was angry though. It was kinda hot. Holding onto her as I limped towards the safe room. The safe room door was shoved aside, and the walls were narrow for a safe room. The walls were scraped by something, probably the huge beast that had just passed through here. Taking a look into the safe room, I stumbled in. Paul looked through the exit of the safe room door. Zoey closed the door behind me, and fell to the ground. I had just taken a beating for her, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Leaning over towards her, I wiped my blood off of her face, and gave her a small kiss, for helping me from my death.

After we so elegantly crawled in to the safe room and collapsed on to the floor Francis had leaned over to me, carefully wiping blood away with his rough fingers, and then gently gave me a tiny kiss, most likely for thanks. But for me, it sparked something else; a desire. I smiled at him and then forced myself to stand up and barricade the door from the crawling flesh eaters. "I hope the roof isn't too hard to get too..." I muttered, pulling out some food for us to munch on, giving some to Paul, who seemed more interested in starring out the cracks in the door than eating. I then walked over to Francis, who had propped himself up in the corner. I sat down against the wall next to him and handed him some food. We ate in silence, and it seemed like tonight not even the zombies were howling. Perhaps the big guy had scared them off? Is that why we encountered no infected when we reached the hospital? In any case, I doubted it would remain that way.
After we finished I felt myself grow more and more tired as I watched the clock on the wall tick softly. It must have run on batteries. Before I knew it I was nodding off, falling in and out of my dreams. The wall was uncomfortable. Slowly I slid down and laid my head in Francis' lap, curling up in to a ball in front of him.

I ate, even though I didn't feel hungry. Relaxing against the wall, I quickly fell asleep. Awaking to something touching my leg. I quickly awoke, and looked down, expecting to see some infected trying to grab me. I remembered the beating I had taken, and how we had made it to the safe room. My pain came back to me, and I cried out. Grabbing my chest and sides. Seeing Zoey asleep, laying with her head on my leg. I tried not to wake her with my constant swearing under my breath. The pain was bad, but I've had worse.

I woke up when I heard him cry out quietly, because I had not been fully asleep yet either. I hoisted myself up and looked at him. "I'm sorry..." I whispered. "Here, you should lay down anyways, less stress on your limbs." I helped the big man lay down on the ground as he winced and groaned at his injuries. He let out a sigh of relief when he was finally immobile on the ground, laying his head against the floor and shutting his eyes. I felt really bad for him, going through all this just to protect me. I looked at the blank wall and then back at him before I curled up beside him, facing him, and clung on to his vest, my forehead lightly against him. I closed my eyes softly, and with the warmth right next to me I washed out the apocalypse and fell sleep in the only comfort I had ever felt out here.

I tell myself it's a dream. A really weird and terrifying dream. But it's so real.
It was all muscle. I can see that "it" used to be a man although now he's a moving mountain. He strikes fear into the other zombies or crushes them with his might. I watch him through half-lidded eyes and pray that he doesn't want to investigate the ambulance.
The ground shakes when he walks. It crumbles when he runs. I see where he's going. I want to call out insults to make him focus elsewhere. I let out a gasp when the man goes limp in the Tank's hold.
My eyes close and reopen once more. My mind is clouded but I know they're still alive. That they're moving past me, into the safe house. Where I should be. Is it too late?
My movements are sluggish. I look down to see crimson and smirk slightly. Time to move. I can't sleep. I peer out the windows and arm myself. The door opens with a creak but I thank it for steadying me. I wobble and take a few steps forward.
The red door is my focus. It's my desire. I must get to it at all costs. My body is weak but I manage a sprint. The darkness is creeping in around the edges of my eyes.
I reach forward and touch the door. My body makes a noise as it collapses against it.

I couldn't eat.
I couldn't sleep.
I was lost.
I can remember that monstrosity. Its grip was strong and had nearly killed me. I probably could have killed it. Someone told me not to, though. I couldn't tell who, but the voice was sweet but frightened. So I didn't.
I should have killed it. Fuck.
I wish they could understand. I wish I could as well. Staring out the door was the only thing to do. Francis gambled his life and won. Mayhap if I did shoot it none of this would have turned out so bad.
There was a thump at the door. There wasn't the usual squeels of the zombies to go along with it. Grabbing my Colt, I slowly got up and peeked over the bars. It was a girl, passed out right against the door.
I opened it and carried her in.

I'm dreaming again. I'm in the backyard with Steven. We're laughing and tossing a baseball back and forth. It's a beautiful day. The leaves rustle with the faintest of breezes and the bright sun warms our faces. His arm winds up and he lets go of the ball, letting it sail through the space between us. I'm distracted. I turn my head for a split second and feel the ball collide with my skull.
I feel my body slide into a half world of slumber and consciousness. There's the sound of a door being opened. There's the feel of someone picking me up. My eyes flicker open for a moment to see a young man with pale skin and deep red hair. He's careful and concentrated as he lays me down on the ground.
He covers the small distance in long strides and closes the door once more. After securing us once more, the stranger leans against the wall. I'm not quite certain if he's standing guard or waiting for someone to come along.
For some reason I don't want to fall asleep. I'm afraid that he'll be gone if I do.
I make a noise. It was supposed to be a simple "hello" but it comes out as a jumble of letters. It works. For a moment he looks down at me. His green eyes add to an already striking appearance. I hold his gaze and watch him come closer. I feel my cheeks flush as he half-kneels before me.
His voice suits him. I don't know how else to describe it.
He tells me to sleep and I obey.
